Our Essence
Lighthouse Christian College is a Christian, co-educational private school catering for all levels of education from Kindergarten (3-year-old) to V.C.E. (Year 12).
We maintain high academic standards, smaller class sizes and a caring, inclusive and supportive community. Our teachers are deeply committed to seeing each student realize their God given potential.
Vision and Community
Our vision focuses on community and how the school serves as an extension of the Christian home. Offering education centered around a relationship with Jesus Christ, the blessings of the Holy Spirit, and the teachings of Bible truth.
Our Heritage
The college was founded by Lighthouse Christian Community Centre (an Assemblies of God church affiliated with the Australian Christian Churches). The College’s educational program has grown from small beginnings in 1989 to become an established and recognised education facility for the benefit of all denominations, serving families from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds. The Keysborough campus has planned for a future total enrollments of 925 students and to further establish other campuses in association with local churches.
Affiliations and Commitments
Lighthouse Christian College is affiliated with Christian Schools Australia (CSA), an Australia-wide fellowship of Christian schools, and is fully committed to support the continued growth of the whole Christian School movement. We are also a member of the Australian Association of Christian Schools (AACS) and the association of Independent Schools of Victoria (ISV). Lighthouse Christian College operates under the governance of LCC, Child Safe Standards, and complies with all civil regulations.
Governance and Accreditation
We are committed to compliance with civil regulations, and the College is accredited by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) and the Victorian Department of Human Services. Lighthouse Christian College supports and promotes the principles and practices of Australian democracy in accordance with Australian law. All of our staff are appropriately qualified and teachers are registered with the Victorian Institute of Teachers. Our lessons reflect national curriculum guidelines and are compliant with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. Our graduating students are eligible for University entrance through the Victorian ATAR system.
